  20. This guide contains the information you need to install our Windows 95
  21. drivers and tools for your Hercules product.
  22.

  24. If You're Updating From An Earlier Release
  25. ==========================================
  26.  
  27. If you already have an earlier version of our Power Drive<tm> Windows
  28. 95 driver installed, you should run the UnInstall program located in
  29. the Hercules PowerTools program group before continuing.  Doing this
  30. removes the previous release of software from your hard drive, as well
  31. as all old refernces to the drivers and utilities in your
  32. configuration files.  The UnInstall program will also change your
  33. display driver back to the standard VGA driver.  After running the
  34. UnInstall program, restart your computer.  You will now be ready to
  35. install this new software.

  38. Running the SETUP Program
  39. =========================
  40.  
  41. If you received this software release on diskettes, you'll find the
  42. SETUP.EXE program on Disk 1 of our Windows 95 Driver and Utilities
  43. diskettes -- the very same diskette that contains this README.TXT
  44. file.  If you've downloaded our software from one of our online
  45. services, you'll find the SETUP.EXE in the archive -- it will be in
  46. the same directory as is this README.TXT file.
  47.  
  48. To install the driver and utilities, just run our SETUP.EXE program.  If
  49. you run it from the task bar, make sure you type the entire path to
  50. the directory that contains SETUP.EXE.  Otherwise, you might
  51. accidentally launch somebody else's setup program.
  52.  
  53. SETUP.EXE can install the Power Drive driver, our new Touch 95<tm> and
  54. Hercules Entertainment Center<tm> utilities, or both.  To
  55. automatically install everything, choose the "Typical" option when
  56. using Setup's "wizard" installation interface.  There's nothing more
  57. to do!

  60. What's New With This Release
  61. ============================
  62.  
  63. 1.  Terminator 3D/DX has been supported.
  64. 2.  Duplicated cursor on OSR2 bug has been fixed.
  65. 3.  Hardware MPEG play back problem has been resolved.

  68. Known Limitations
  69. =================
  70.  
  71. 1.  1600x1200x16bpp is not available.
  72.  
  73. 2.  Video playback is not available when using the viewport (virtual
  74.     desktop).
  75.  
  76. 3.  When using a viewport, your viewport's maximum refresh rate is
  77.     limited to the maximum refresh rate of the desktop area if you use
  78.     the Auto refresh rate option.  For example, if you're using a
  79.     desktop area of 1280x1024x256 and a viewport area of 800x600, the
  80.     maximum refresh rate is determined by the maximum refresh rate
  81.     supported by your card at 1280x1024x256.  However, you can
  82.     circumvent this issue by manually selecting a viewport refresh rate.
